MPP OntoNet™ available at CINECA Supercomputing Center for Ultra Large-Scale Complexity Analysis
/Como, February 17-th, 2020. The Massively Parallel Processing version of OntoNet™ is available for commercial applications at the Bologna-based CINECA Supercomputer Center. MPP OntoNet™ has been developed in collaboration with US-based SAIC, a premier technology integrator solving complex modernization and readiness challenges across the defense, space, federal civilian and intelligence markets.
The key application of MPP OntoNet is anomaly detection and anticipation in ultra large-scale systems and critical infrastructures. The goal is to mitigate systemic risks.
"We are proud to collaborate with CINECA in making ultra large-scale Quantitative Complexity Management (QCM) analysis available to the industry", said Dr. J. Marczyk, the Founder and President of Ontonix. "What threatens the resilience and stability of our global economy and society are systemic risks. While systemic risks have become known to the public after the 2008 economy meltdown, very little has been done in terms of regulation, not to mention analytical tools for assessing, measuring and managing systemic risks" he continued. "Systemic risks affect all critical infrastructures such as:
1. ICT networks
2. Transportation systems
3. Large supply chains
4. Defense systems
5. The global financial system
6. The IoT
7. The World as a System
With MPP OntoNet™ we can measure the resilience and complexity of these huge systems and to identify fragility hotspots, provide early-warnings of malfunctions, pre-crisis or pre-collapse conditions. With the QCM we are equipped to identify anomalies in any of them without resorting to Machine Learning. Complex infrastructures can fail in countless ways and it is practically impossible to define and to learn to recognize them. With the QCM the problem of anomaly detection is approached in a totally different light, which does not require expensive and lengthy classification and learning" he concluded.
About CINECA
CINECA is the largest Supercomputing Center in Italy, Since the 1960s Cineca's supercomputers are among the most important in Europe and worldwide, always present in the Top 500 list of the most powerful supercomputers in the world. Today Cineca's flagship supercomputer is MARCONI, a highly parallel system that in November 2019 was ranked 19th in the Top500. Visit website.
